What is the Ladki Bahini Yojana?
Chief Minister Eknath Shinde launched the Ladki Bahini Yojana to empower the women of Maharashtra. Originally, the deadline for this scheme was July 15, which has since been extended to August 31. Other Initiatives for Women's Empowerment
This scheme is particularly beneficial for women facing financial difficulties or those without a stable source of income. It helps them meet their family's needs and achieve financial security. Besides this, the Shinde government has also launched several other initiatives for women's empowerment. The Lek Ladki Yojana offers financial support to girls from birth until they turn 18, ensuring they can pursue education and other opportunities. Under the Lakhpati Didi Yojana, women are provided with interest-free loans to help them become self-sufficient and start their businesses.
Three Free LPG Cylinders Annually
To address basic needs, the Shinde government has introduced the Annapurna Yojana, which provides 5.2 million families with three free LPG cylinders each year. Additionally, the government offers financial assistance to purchase 500 e-rickshaws in every district, creating employment opportunities for women. The initiatives undertaken by CM Eknath Shinde's government in empowering women are indeed commendable. The Ladki Behna Yojana and other schemes play a vital role in making women self-reliant and strengthening their position in society.
